"Gunyou Senkou Zukai Gassatsu" is a 300+ years old ancient Samurai manual written in 1708. Besides being a full colored antique book, it was also written in classical Japanese and used old-style Kanji which are not used today. This book describes the military formation, procedures, and tactics of the Samurai.

Samurai are known to behead their enemies in battle, and these heads brought back for rewards. These 2 pages describes the procedure for labeling the heads and bringing them back to the Commander (Taisho).

These 2 pages describes the Samurai's battle formation as they get into melee combat, with the "Ichiban-Yari" (First Spear) leading the way.

Making Of This Ancient Manual
How did people in the past, without access to modern technology, printed on both sides of the paper?
The answer: They didn't print on both sides of the paper. The content was printed onto 1 long sheet of paper, then folded into half. The right half became the odd-numbered pages, and the left half became the even-numbered pages.
This method doubled the amount of paper being used, and this was faithfully replicated.
